{Jackson, TN, child photography}

I was so excited when Marcia asked me to photograph Bennett. She told me that they were starting to re-decorate his room and were going with a train theme. We decided to head downtown to the railroad museum to get some photos of Bennett with the trains for his room. What a well mannered, handsome, agreeable little man. He did SUCH A GREAT job with his photo shoot and took direction really well. He made my job very easy! I got some cute shots of him and think they will have plenty to choose from for his room. I’ve just started editing the photos but wanted to share a few with Marcia…so here you go sweet friend! Your little train loving two year old man!

And you can see a few more on my facebook page!

Micah turned four at the beginning of April, right after we moved into our new home. I talked about doing this photo shoot many times…but yesterday we made it happen (only 2.5 months late). I took Micah to the Railroad Museum in downtown Jackson. This kids loves baseball, trains, and cars. So I figured that would be the perfect location. It was really fun because of all the times I’ve taken clients here for sessions the train cars have never been open. Yesterday the trains were open and Micah and I got to explore a little bit. We also got to in the museum and he saw the model train/city that they have set up in there too. He was in heaven. To top it all off after we got his shirt changed for some “baseball” photos and headed over to the park a REAL train came right by the museum. He didn’t how loud the horn was but he thought it was pretty cool to see a real train go by…the conductor waved at him too! We took a few more photos and then headed home. He was a trouper in the hot weather and did an excellent job of posing for me and letting me get some shots of him as he is!

Micah, you are an amazing little man. Your heart for others is so amazing. I love how you look out for your sisters and are so kind. You sure can be a little stinker at times too and like to whine instead of using appropriate words but I’m hoping that’ll go away! I love your passion for whatever you are working on and how much you love baseball. You are truly an amazing child and we are so blessed to have you in our lives. I cannot imagine a day going by without you to snuggle with, talk to and learn from. I love you Micah! Thanks for being a great sport and letting me take your four year old portraits yesterday. I cannot believe you’re already four!! Love, mom!

Here are a few of my favorites from his session. You can see the rest on facebook!

{Jackson, TN Child photographer, special event photographer}

I was so excited when Marcia called me last week to tell me about Sara Grace’s ballet recital, and to ask if I’d be available to photograph the little “dancing rainbow” before her recital. I was bummed though because we weren’t going to be able to attend. Marcia, her mother, and Sara Grace came over for a few minutes before heading to the civic center and I was able to grab a few quick photos. This little girl LOVES ballet and she is very photogenic so it made my job VERY easy! Thanks Marcia for trusting me with capturing these memories for you! I hope you are pleased with the end result!!

{Jackson, TN senior portrait photographer}

Even though I have “hung up my shoes” so to speak I am still available for photo sessions. My goal is to stay on top of my skills and hopefully improve them as well. When people ask me to photograph them I jump at the chance simply because it is something that I LOVE to do. When friends of ours from Texas inquired about me photographing their soon-to-be senior (last year) I was excited about the opportunity…but logistically we didn’t know how it would work since we had moved to Tennessee. In January our family took a little vacation to Texas and we thought that would be the perfect time to get Matt’s senior photos done…but God had other plans. So, when Matt and his family talked about their family vacation in Indiana they decided to swing through Tennessee, stay with us for a night and have me photograph Matt. I was honored to have Rebecca tag along on Matt’s session, two years ago it was her turn for senior portraits, (you can see her session here) so she was able to help Matt, get him laugh and show us his “real” smile!! We had a great time exploring downtown Jackson and all the fun little quirks that it has to offer. Matt was the valedictorian of his class and will be headed to Valporaiso in the fall. Congratulations Matt!!

Thanks Matt for traveling 12 hours so I could take your senior portraits! You are officially the “furthest traveled” client I’ve ever had!! yeah!!
I hope you had a good time at the session and that you like the end result! And you may think you’re not photogenic but I don’t agree!

We’re going to need a bigger doormat!

We are so thankful and blessed by God to be called to be parents to another little one.
We know that children are a gift from God and we are so excited to welcome a new little blessing into our family this fall.
